The San Diego Music Awards
https://twitter.com/Uhh_yup
Like 70's italian horror soundtracks? Then you will love the San Diego Music Awards!! Not sure when this band will come out with anything concrete, like a CD or anything, but they sound awesome! The band got into some legal trouble in 2011 and had to change their name because they are using the same name as The San Diego Music Awards, which is a real San Diego awards ceremony held every year. Ironically, one of the members is Rob Crow (Thingy, Heavy Vegetable, and Pinback) who is nominated for best album of the year from the San Diego Music Awards. Their music reminds me of Dario Argento movies, like Suspiria, and any other Italian horror film. Give it a listen! I do not own rights to this video.

Apparatjik Square Peg In a Round Hole
Apparatjik consists of a member from each of those bands. Believe me when I say this, I would not imagine such a diverse group of people to create such cool, electrifying hits. They sound electric, with an intensifying echo (I know that's contradictory) of the amazing Jonas Bjerre. Not quite Mew or any of the other bands these members are in, but they definitely have a different sound than most bands. Their new album Square Peg In A Round Hole came out about a month or two ago. It's really great! Give it a shot and stuff!

The Avengers!
Follow @Uhh_yup
It is Thursday night and, for some reason, I am extremely tired. Not the kind of tired that follows a hard day of working out or manual labor, but the kind of tired where your body and mind are just exhausted for no reason. I do not know why I feel this way, and it could not come at a worse time because I am going to the midnight showing of The Avengers tonight. Yeah, that's right, The Avengers. I know you all are probably thinking, "Yeah, I've heard of The Avengers. Why are you talking about this?" I am talking about this because I want all of you to know that I know this movie will be good. Of course there's Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Hemsworth, along with Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, and a bunch of others. What you all do not understand is that Joss Whedon wrote this movie. That is the number one reason why this movie will be good, not because of the action, not because of the humor, not because black widow is absolutely stunning, but because Joss Whedon wrote this movie.
This guy wrote and created HUGE hits like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, and he even helped write and produce the new horror film Cabin In the Woods. By the way, Cabin In the Woods was an incredibly awesome piece of horror that should forever be placed on the mantle of, "Horror Movies Everyone Should Watch Before They Die." Most of these shows have massive cult followings, especially Firefly, and Joss Whedon is considered a god at places like comic-con and other movie conventions. All in all, if you liked Buffy or any of those awesome shows, then that alone will tell everyone that this movie will be good. Don't worry, we are all in good hands, and I haven't even seen this yet!
The Avengers opens on May 4th.

Can you believe it is almost May 2012!? I swear, it seems like only yesterday it was New Year's Eve, the music, the boos, the dancing, and everyone circling around the television waiting for something that is WAY less special than what everyone makes it out to be. Good times, people! That was then, and this is now. Speaking of now, I happened to see Big Black Delta a couple of weeks ago. This band does not get enough recognition. Big black delta is a side project from Mellowdrone's Jonathan Bates, and I must say this band can really make a good first impression. Due to the amplified crashing of the two drummers, shot glasses were moving off the bar! They have a very unique, electronic rock-n-roll attitude that shows through songs such as "Huggin and Kissing," and "Betamax." I particularly like the creative dance balled that was, "Dreary Moon." By the way, you can tell that the singer loves what he is doing because he presents some insane, incredibly entertaining dance moves on stage. All in all, Big Black Delta is one of those bands, due to their electrifying talent and easily enjoyable dance moves, that will be moving up in the music world faster than you can blink. You can purchase Big Black Delta's LP, their EP is free to download too, on their website.

Geographer
Follow @Uhh_yup
It's been some time since I posted something, and occasionally that will happen. You know, everyone gets busy. Enough romance, Geographer released their new single Life of Crime last week, and it is pretty good listening. Mixing electronic and alternative music into something more meaningful, Geographer can either make you wanna dance or ruminate. The electric drums, used in most of their songs, almost always sound great when listening with large headphones. Anyway, their single is really something else. Look for their new album Myth, due to come out sometime this year.
You can listen to the new single or buy their previous albums below.

Mocean Worker
Follow @Uhh_yup
For those of you people who are interested in finding something a little out of your element, then I have something for you. Imagine 1930-1950 jazz and mixing it with an electronic funk psychedelic twist mix. Put those two things in a blender, blend it for 40 minutes, pour it in a shaker, shake it for 10 minutes, and then pour the ingredients all in a tall glass, and you now have Mocean Worker. Adam Dorn, the man behind Mocean Worker, puts out different elements on his computer and samples over them with some smooth jazz beats. This stuff is so smooth I could drink 8 ounces of his newly polished album, Candyman Mowo, down it all with one gulp and feel absolutely nothing but my hips move. The stuff is super catchy, and any type of music fan can dance to his.
You can check out Mocean Worker at www.moceanworker.com
